Neighborhood Planning Initiative

Visual Identity Design

About the project

In collaboration with Agency Planning + Landscape In Cambridge MA, I embarked on a creative endeavor to establish a comprehensive visual identity system for the City of Cambridge's Neighborhood Planning Initiative (NPI). At the core of this system stands the NPI logo, a unique hand-drawn geometric mark composed of lines to form lowercase letters.

This distinctive mark comprises 13 open-ended lines, each representing the individual neighborhoods within Cambridge. With a closed line, shaping the superscript dot of the letter "i," it symbolizes the cohesive unity of Cambridge as a whole. Our primary objective in crafting the NPI logo was twofold: to encapsulate the city's essence and radiate an inviting, community-centric ambiance.
